Pair of early C19th George IV period carved mahogany hall chairs. Well-carved pair of hall or foot-mans' chairs with scrolling ancanthus-leaf detail backs ,shaped cresting rail and open central cartouche for an armorial device . The shaped seats above reeded front legs onto peg feet terminals. The rear of backs with finger-grip carving for ease of movement.

Excellent colour with original polish and patina .Top quality grade of timber. Minor historic repairs to rear legs and some minor stains to the solid mahogany seats.

Stylish pair of side chairs of classically-referenced design , with classical Grecian motif carving, featuring acanthus, lotus and palmettes. The shaped lumbar-support splat with a central tablet. Probably influenced by the drawings and designs of Thomas Hope and Charles Heathcote-Tatham , inspired by the architecture from the ancient classical Empires of Rome ,Greece and Eygpt. Standing on reeded fore-legs , the back with a stylish deeply-raked angle. Original mellow green hide upholstery to seats . One chair with old repairs to top-rail .

Pair of early C20th "Black Forest" carved miniature bears. Charming pair of carved linden wood (lime) bears , one seated on its haunches ,the other rolled on its back, each supporting an original brass bowl . Well -carved and modelled with naturalistically painted mouths and teeth , fitted with glass-bead eyes (one missing). Minor chip to one foot. Probably conceived as ash-trays , and made and sold as tourist souvenirs from Switzerland .

Pair of early C20th Chinese 'sancai'-glazed terracotta Buddhistic temple dogs. Highly decorative pair of Kylins or 'Dogs of Fo' temple guardian lions. Traditional 'Egg and spinach' sancai glaze lion-dogs wearing collars, sat upon decorated and draped plinth bases , the male with his paw upon a ball ,the female with her paw upon a pup. In Feng Shui, the lions are a manifestation of 'Yin' and 'Yang ', the ball under the male paw representing the circle of life. The male providing protection for the structure of the building , whilst the female protects the occupants of the Temple. Well-modelled copies of early Chinese ornamental mythical Temple guardian lion-dogs with fierce expressions. Good scale with subdued colours, some minor losses to the glaze. No breaks or repairs, minor chips to base.

Male and female representations with contrasting stances and decoration. Raised on 'draped' plinth bases , the male dog with traditional ball symbol beneath his paw, whilst the female has a cub .No chips, repairs or damage. Minor colour loss around bases where glaze has 'run' in firing.

Pair of early C29th Chinese verdigris bronze lamp-bases of Archaic Shang Dynasty 'Fanglei' design .

Smart pair of incricately-cast bronze lamp-bases imitating ancient Chinese ritual wine or food vessels /vases or 'Fanglei' , from the Archaic Chinese Bronze Age c. 1650 BC.

Such ancient bronze vessels were used for the purposes of ancestor veneration and worship in Chinese culture.

The cast decoration of traditional Chinese archaic style with stylised eyes and mask imagery.

Mounted onto bleached hardwood stands and feet of typical Chinese form , with corresponding wooden 'lids'. All-round cast decoration , of free-standing form .

Well-executed aged verdigris /ancient patination and finish .

Highly decorative pair of stylish lamp-bases.

Foliate and ribbon-tied carved detail to the frames , fitted castors to front legs. Sound strong frames, old neutral 'shot-silk' covering with piped edges, which has some marks and stains and may benefit from re-upholstering.

Some rubbing to gilt , but good opulent 'shabby chic' look.

Pair of early C20th carved coromandel elephants . Smart pair of walking elephants carved in solid coromandel , displaying a striking grain. Bone tusks, toe-nails and eyes.The 'squared' carving of the ears and use of coromandel and general 'feel' ,suggest a strong Art Deco influence and the pair would complement such a scheme. Pair of early C20th Italian carved gilt-wood 3 branch scroll-arm wall-lights . In C18th period style , good-scale pair of gilt-wood and gesso wall-lights. Triple lamp-holders with carved foliate leaf-wrapped and rosette decoration. Candle-holder type nozzles and circular back-plates with carved edges. The gilding has gained a nice mellow patina ,with the red gesso ground 'bleeding' through in areas to imitate period style and aging. Can be re-wired to client's specification.

The tooled sage green leather tops with both 'blind' and gilt tooling of the highest quality and definition .
