Superbly-made mahogany beside cupboard fitted with a drawer and panelled door cupboard enclosing a shelf , each with original stylish brass fittings .

Constructed from high grade well-figured 'plum pudding' mahogany with a rich colour and patina. The top fitted with a shaped three-quarter gallery , a carved decorative band beneath . Standing on a base of ogee moulded section with shaped feet.

Though key is missing , the quality of the cabinet is emphasised by being fitted with a lock by the prestigious Hobbs & Co. London.

In excellent original condition, minor ring-mark to top .

Superb quality Georgian bookcase with bar-glazed upper doors retaining their original hand-blown glass panels . The glass having wonderful movement and an almost convex profile . The divided centre top with 6 original adjustable shelves with 'ladder-racking' sides . (Supplied also with 4 additional C19th matching shelves to increase capacity if required).

The base section with a simple 'thumb-moulded' edge and fitted with twin panelled doors of book-matched flame mahogany with a rare and unusual figured satinwood cross-banding which presents the illusion of fielded panels . The doors enclosing two banks of 6 graduated drawers each fitted with their original cast-brass 'swan-neck' handle.

Both pairs of doors fitted with their original reeded and patinated brass central 'slamming' strips ,double brass bolts and key escutcheons. Original locks and steel loop-handle key . The moulded cornice of simple uncomplicated design.

Raised upon original low , wide bracket feet supports . Original panelled back .

A well proportioned, low-waisted cabinet of restrained C18th design , a rare survivor presented in it's original untouched state .

Original surface with a rich deep colour and patination.

Good large-scale mahogany stand for a hall-way or boot-room , designed to hold riding boots , riding crops and whips . Of free-standing double-sided form . The 'slotted' central broad section constructed to house the heel of the suspended boot , whilst the pegs above are placed to hold the whips .

The turned frame with finial decoration, the flat broad base with turned compressed bun feet.

Good grade of mahogany which has achieved a rich patina and colour.
Minor historic repair to boot hanging section .

Well-cast good larger-scale copies of the Roman 2nd century AD marble urn discovered in 1773 at the Villa of Antoninus Pius in Monte Cagnolo by Gavin Hamilton , agent to the famous collector of antiquities, Charles Townley .

The bodies of the vases are decorated in high relief and depicts a Bacchalian procession, a raucous festival of drinking and feasting. The central figures portraying Bacchus and Ariadne , whilst Pan is portrayed along with the followers of Bacchus , Satyrs and Maenads dancing and cavorting. Bacchus or Dionysus is the God of wine in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology.

These large ancient vessels were originally made to mix wine and water in during the festival rituals and copy the Ancient Greek versions .

Smart pair of decorative vases with a bright , though aged , patina , with minor areas of verdigris around the handle areas adding to the atmosphere of antiquity.

Graceful figured mahogany Sheraton period cross-banded and finely box-wood line inlaid mahogany sideboard of excellent quality, colour and patina. Raised on 6 square section tapering supports terminating in 'spade' feet . Central oak-lined drawer flanked by a cupboard door and a deep cellarette drawer (without zinc or lead lining ).

The top in particular of a fine grade of figured mahogany which has achieved and obtained a wonderful colour and patina.

The drawers and cupboard fitted with antique replacement quality well-cast lion's mask ring handles .

A fine example of an elegant Georgian period sideboard of restrained classic design.

Superb quality mahogany table with a 'split-pod' opening carved base with well-carved bulbous capstan column support onto shaped legs terminating in impressive lion's paw feet with claw detail.

The pull-out action mechanism with oak runners and fitted with circular brass 'twist' clip fixings to secure the top . The whole table , including the original spare extension leaf fitted with an elegant shallow frieze .

The table has benefitted from an expensive highly professional re-polish some 10 years ago , as is in excellent ready-to-use condition. Strong , sturdy table of good proportions and presence.

Good rich colour thoughout.

Purchased and removed from a local country property in Worcestershire , a well-cast pair of vases in old paint finish. The edges with 'egg-and-dart' borders , the ribbed and fluted bodies unto a cast detail socle teminating in a square plinth base .

In excellent original condition with no damage , breaks or repairs. (1 bowl loose on base).

High quality rare set of 10 single mahogany dining chairs , taking their design inspiration from classical Greek references.

Broad figured mahogany backs supported on carved stylised Corinthian capital blocks. The forelegs with upper 'lappet-style' carved detail, the feet with carved 'bulb' detail . The seat frame edges with a moulded profile .

The chairs have been the subject of top-quality sympathetic refurbishment approximately 10 years ago , with re-webbed and recovered seats in the traditional manner . The polish on the legs has been professionally matched to repair any scuffs and loss to the surface.

Wonderful colour to the deeply concave top rails which have obtained an excellent patination .

The seats covered in an expensive self-patterned fabric of a golden yellow hue , with classical wreath motif pattern and Medusa head mask design. The edges with braided detail .

In ready-to-use condition. A fine quality set of well-proportioned chairs benefitting from comprising a scarce set of 10 single chairs .

Have no breaks or repairs.

(Extra fabric available to match ,which would cover a pair of carver armchairs, should they be purchased to extend the set further)

Smart 'sun-burst' design mahogany and satinwood panel-top table , the large 'fanned' oval with a central patera and spandrels to the corners , fitted with a plate glass top protector, and raised upon a lacquered brass base of faux bamboo design . Shaped inverted end frame with lateral stretcher supports. The brass base has an aged patina , and matches the colour of the brass surround of the top panel .

The panel being of late C18th George III period origin , and had been mounted into this bespoke ,'made-to-measure' brass base during the first part of the C20th.

Would complement a period style room setting , providing a practical and decorative low centre or coffee table .

Under-glaze blue Copeland Spode mark to the underside, together with a scripted red pattern number .

Would work equally well in an interior or exterior decorative scheme or in an orangery or conservatory.

Of Art Nouveau-inspired design , mahogany framed table with unusual fold-down hinged sides , each opening to reveal a baize-lined circular 'dish' . Each 'flap' fitted with an original gilt-brass knob . The top of shaped outline with a moulded edge , the sides all with a carved pierced Art Nouveau-type tulip-head design.

The shaped splay legs joined by a turned and joined undertier stretcher with central platform.

An usual model of table with a cleverly designed transformation function , for multiple of possible uses.

In good original condition with rich dark patination. Some inor marks to top .

The well-detailed scroll arms of lyre form , the centre of the shaped dip-back top-rail with a carved scroll surmount .

Supplied with 2 original roll bolster cushions for the ends (not shown in photos) .

Of classically-designed ancient sarcophagus-shaped form , the panelled front cellarette is raised on exceptionally well-carved acanthus-wrapped lions' paw feet with intricate claw detail . The stepped and concave-moulded lid with a well-carved oblong central block or tablet , of stylised flowers. The carved feet fitted with original 'concealed' or sunken, brass barrel-type castors . The panelled ends each fitted with an original cast-brass well-detailed lion's mask ring handle.

The polished interior of plain form , which would hold approximately 15-20 bottles of wine. The lid fitted with brass hinges and an interior brass restraining chain . The front fitted with a brass lock escutcheon and supplied with original steel key .

Drawing its influences and inspiration from the revisited forms of the ancient classical worlds of Greece and Rome , made fashionable again during this Regency period by the drawings and designs of leading architects and designers such as Thomas Hope , George Smith and Charles Heathcote-Tatham.

Of good compact ,practical proportions.

Excellent condition , figured and flamed mahogany with a rich patina, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
