Description

Pair of early C19th French Empire Restauration period gilt-bronze vases.
High-quality cast gilded bronze neo-classical design twin-handled vases . The tapering ovoid bodies raised on cylindrical bases with chased and chequered decoration with stylised flower-heads , further band of decoration onto square plinths. The scroll handles with cornucopia details , the necks and bodies with bands of cast detail and stiff-leaf decoration.
In excellent original condition with a mellow, aged ‘golden’ patina and colour.
