Pair of late C19th French marquetry inlaid and ormolu mounted �tables-en-chiffonniere� .
Pair of Louis XVI period revival oval tables in the manner of the C18th celebrated master ebeniste Charles Topino. Inlaid with complex marquetry panels and designs with walnut, kingwood, rosewood , ebony and satinwood.
Of free-standing form with decorative pierced brass-galleried edge tops. One table fitted a single drawer with cupboard below enclosing a single leather-lined shelf ,simulated as drawer fronts , the other table fitted 3 drawers, each table with kidney-shaped marquetry inlaid under-tiers fitted with brass galleries. Cast ormolu escutcheons and sabots . Supplied with original key .
In excellent condition with original surface and a mellow colour and patina.
Superb quality pair of decorative and practical tables which could be utilised in a multitude of settings.
