A large scale late C19th French rococo-style gilt-wood and gilded gesso wall bracket in the Louis XVI taste .
Impressive gilded wall bracket with central shell motif and scrolling leaf and flowerhead details.
The open-work rococo design body of tapering form with a pedant terminal, supporting a rounded-corner rectangular shelf with shaped end returns, and with a classical �stiff-leaf� decorated edge . The top surface of the shelf lined with original old worn grey velvet .
In excellent original condition with no losses , damage and minimal wear to the gilding. Minor shrinkage cracks to gesso commensurate with age .
A dramatically designed and scaled bracket to display an important work of art , or perhaps for use as a miniature console table.
