Early C19th William IV period carved rosewood framed sofa of practical scale and proportions.
Raised on carved and turned legs all fitted with original brass cup castors and wheels. The carved and shaped figured rosewood upright end supports of stylised lotus-flower form with scrolls , above rectangular block tablet reserves of leaf carving . The horizontal seat frieze with a moulded and channeled profile . The whole of free-standing form , the reverse of the frame also having figured rosewood show-wood veneer.
The gently arched top-rail of the back being of uncomplicated and restrained design .
Would benefit from re-upholstery, which can be arranged at a cost price using fabric suppled by clients .
