Early C19th tortoiseshell oblong casket or box of sarcophagus form .
Smart figured tortoiseshell veneered casket with a hinged shaped top lid . Full-length brass hinge opening to reveal the interior showing the figured macassar ebony frame construction.
Of nice proportions for a jewellery or ring box , or for a myriad of uses .
In excellent original condition with only minor nibbles to the extremities, the whole having a rich polished lustre .
