Elegant Regency period side , serving or dressing table of D-shaped form with a shaped three-quarter gallery upstand back.
The gallery with incised carved detail with a central classical anthemion or honeysuckle motif .
Fitted 3 frieze drawers retaining their original knob pull handles. The whole with reeded ebony moulding and having alternate ebonised ring turnings to the elegantly turned and tapering legs fitted with their original brass cup castors and wheels.
In excellent original condition with an exceptional rich colour and patina to the well-chosen grade of mahogany. Minor historic ring-marks to the top commensurate with age, use and purpose.
A decorative and practical table of good scale and proportions which could be utilised in multiple ways and varying settings.
* the use of the ebony mouldings and ebonised turnings alludes to the death of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson and the ensuing public mourning and commemoration at the loss of the great national hero in 1805 .
