Early C19th Regency period rectangular gilded overmantel mirror .
Regency gilded-frame overmantel mirror of landscape design, in entirely original and �fresh-to-market� countryhouse condition. The water-gilded frame with applied carved a gesso moulded decoration , the original silvered mirror plate with an ebonised and reeded surround. The cornice of breakfront-ended architectural form above a frieze with a ribbed or bobbin bar having decorated bands , with corresponding vertical uprights . The stepped corner blocks with stylised rosette decoration.
The whole raised on original compressed ebonised ball feet , the reverse with original panelled back-boards .
A period mirror of practical scale in excellent original condition with no losses , only minor chips to decoration and atmospheric wear to the gilding commensurate with age use and purpose.
