Superior quality early C19th William IV period mahogany sideboard .
Capacious figured mahogany sideboard fitted four cupboard doors to the base enclosing an array of shelves , slides and a wine cellarette with an inset brass handle .
The doors with classical Empire-style architectural column supports , the centre of inverted break-front form , the whole raised on a plinth base . The frieze above fitted with 3 shaped-front drawers .
The back with a shaped mahogany upstand with well-carved classical-style decoration to the ends . Fitted with working locks and keys to the cupboards .
Superb quality throughout with ‘flame’ mahogany veneered panelled doors , the top being of selected figured ‘plum pudding’ mahogany. The upstand with ‘book-matched’ figured veneers .
In excellent original condition, benefitting from having been burnished and polished some 20 years ago when purchased by the previous owners from a prestigious provincial antiques fair . Cleaned and waxed in our workshops ready to use.
A practical and quality sideboard of powerful design , providing both useful storage and serving capacity for a dining room .
