Description

Late C19th/early C20th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved hardwood 2-tier staged table .
The free-standing stepped frame carved with simulated bamboo design , whilst the friezes have carved and pierced detail with prunus vines . The two tiers with panel tops , the whole joined by shaped stretchers .
In excellent original with no losses, repairs or damage and a rich colour and patina to the quality densely-grained oriental timber.
A decorative and practical table probably originally conceived as a jardiniere plant-stand or display stand , but would work equally well as either a sofa side drinks table or a bedside table .
