Description

Late C18th/early C19th George III period mahogany rectangular joint stool.
Elegant mahogany stool of restrained and sophisticated design. Raised on square tapering splayed legs united by lateral stretchers , supporting a well-selected figured mahogany single-piece top .
The thick mahogany top with a gently-rounded profile edge , with a subtle sophistication to the moulded lower edge of the frieze below . The jointed legs of well-executed pegged construction.
In excellent strong original condition with a rich colour and patina.
Useful heavy quality Georgian period mahogany stool which would work equally as well as a wine or occasional table .
