C19th Italian carved alabaster light-shade bowl or plafonnier.
Classically-inspired alabaster plafonnier light-shade with a carved broad ‘Greek-Key’ style band to the top edge . Fitted with verdigris brass fittings and triple hanging chains .
In excellent original condition with no cracks , repairs or damage , Finely-veined and striated alabaster stone which has a semi-translucent property when lit by the bulb inside , providing atmospheric lighting.
Creamy white alabaster with some subtle coloured areas .
