Large late C19th Japanese Meiji period porcelain jardiniere or fish-bowl .
Highly decorative blue-and-white hand-painted jardiniere of impressive proportions . The body painted with continuous traditional mountainous landscape decoration and raised ‘bas-relief’ details. Superb attention to detail throughout, the top and bottom edges each with a band of ruyi or lappet decoration. The flattened top rim with corresponding scrolling floral decoration.
In excellent condition with no breaks, damage or repairs .
