Fine quality early C19th French neo-classical gilt-bronze urn on a 'rouge griotte' marble base.
Superbly-executed bas-relief cast urn with a classical figures and bacchantes on a textured or 'pounced' background, surrounding the tapered body twin-handled urn . Raised on a gilt-bronze socle and mounted on a cylindrical marble base with a block plinth of well-selected and figured rouge griotte .
In excellent original condition with no wear or rubbing to the gilding , or damage to the marble.
