Set of 12 late C19th Chippendale revival carved mahogany dining chairs .
Quality long set of 12 ( 2 armchairs + 10 singles) carved mahogany dining chairs of mid C18th design in the style of Thomas Chippendale. The well-carved backs with intricate carved and gothic quatrefoil pierced splats with leaf scrolls and a hare-bell motif to centre . Surmounted by serpentine shaped top rails with scrolled ends and leaf carving . Raised on square-section forelegs , the frames joined with H-stretcher supports . The rear legs with a gentle outswept profile.
Well-proportioned broad-seated comfortable set of chairs with drop-in cushion seats . Upholstered in a mix of old replacement and original green leather hide covers , some in distressed order .
Seats can be re-covered in client's choice of fabric or leather at cost price .
Excellent grade of chosen mahogany which has achieved a mellow C18th period patination.
Rare multiple of 12 chairs of restrained mid C18th period design.
