Fine quality early C19th Regency period brass-inlaid rosewood chiffonier.
Elegant Regency brass-inlaid and brass-mounted rosewood 2-door cabinet with mirror-inset back with shelves . The rosewood framed mirror back with decorative pierced gilt-brass three-quarter . The graduated shelves with brass string inlay and supported on well-cast brass column supports of classical design.
The cabinet base with intricate cut-brass inlay to the frieze , the vertical uprights of the sides and the blocks . The frieze banded with a high-quality cast gilt-brass mount bead surround. The whole with brass-inlaid line stringing .
The door panels fitted with replaced pleated material lining to replace and replicate the worn original. The doors fitted with a reeded brass vertical strip , brass escutcheon and working brass lock and key. The interior fitted with a baize covered shelf , ideal for storing glass , china or perhaps use as a drinks cabinet.
The whole raised on original compressed bun feet .
In superb original condition with a wonderful gently faded original colour and patina to the well-figured rosewood.
No losses to the brass inlay .
Cleaned and waxed in our workshops , ready for the home.
