Pair of C19th Italian Tuscan walnut and parcel-gilt tables in the C17th Renaissance style.
Good decorative pair of Italian C17th-style walnut tables with 'cut-corner' octagonal tops with carved frieze edges . Raised on turned and carved stems with distressed 'parcel' or partial-gilt decoration. The base with a square block support also with parcel gilt carved-leaf detail and gilt collars . A moulded profile around the stepped square base and the whole raised on 4 carved claw feet.
The planked walnut tops each with a rich , glowing patina and with a worn , distressed surface , imitating important and rare early C17th late Renaissance period originals from the Tuscany region of Italy . Evidence of historic woodwork, which has been checked , treated and eradicated.
A useful pair of decorative furnishing tables of practical and functional scale , which would work well in a period interior scheme .
