C19th Italian carved alabaster mantel clock fitted with a French movement under a glass dome.
Italian carved alabaster clock case surmounted with a removable figure of Lorenzo de Medici after Michelangelo . The front fitted with a gilded clock face with decorative surround and Roman numeral markings, fitted with pierced decorative blackened steel hands. The polished white alabaster architecturally-inspired case with a well- carved detail edge , the rectangular case raised on block feet.
Fitted with an 8-day striking pendulum-driven movement signed by "Gilliot a Paris" . The movement not functioning and requires attention . Sold as a decorative clock in non-working order.

The whole raised on an ebonised wooden rounded-corner base and covered with a glass dome .

An impressive scale decorative clock of architectural and classical form , possibly a souvenir from the European 'Grand Tour ' .
