Late C19th/early C20th brass desk or table lamp of classical Empire design.
Well-cast Empire-style brass column desk lamp of elegant proportions. The stepped plinth supporting a block base with classical victor's wreath decoration. The body of the column with 'stiff-leaf' cast decoration , and with similar decoration to the top . The base with original but non-functioning toggle switch , the lamp now operated from the replacement bulb-holder switch .
Good aged patina and colour , has been cleaned but not heavily polished , in order to preserve the 'soft' colouration to the metal .
Has been rewired using traditional style cotton-covered twist flex , and PAT tested ,ready for use .
Smart addition to a desk or a period interior scheme .
