Late C19th/early C20th Edwardian period adjustable height brass Corinthian column standard lamp .
Good quality brass Empire-style standard lamp . Raised on an architectural square stepped-base with lion's paw claw feet , the block base with a well-detailed cast victor's wreath to each side. The fluted column body with an acanthus leaf Corinthian capital top.
The top of the capital with a twist-grip adjustable ring fitment allowing the telescopic action to be heightened or lowered.
Has achieved a smart , aged and subtle patina which resembles gilded bronze and would complement a period interior.
Has been re-wired and refurbished, using traditional-style cotton covered twist flex and fitted with a new bulb holder with switch and electrically PAT tested.
