Description

Early C19th Regency period mahogany framed pier mirror of architectural inspiration.
Compact sized oblong pier mirror retaining its original silver-grey mercury plate which has achieved an atmospheric distressed and 'foxed' patination. The stepped architectural pediment of inverted break-front form , with carved ovolo or 'egg and dart' edge . The underside with carved circular applied decoration .
The flamed mahogany panel above the mirror plate with satinwood cross-banded detail with reel turned dividing bar below. Upright 'rope-twist' columns flank the plate with turned ebonised sections to top and bottom . The mirror plate with an ebonised and reeded slip surround . The base with applied circular paterae detail .
In good original condition throughout with an excellent rich patination and original polish and surface.
