All drawers fitted with their original locks and with raised circular brass escutcheons, supplied with a working steel key . Each dove-tail lined drawer with an incised line to the edge simulating a 'cock-beaded' moulding.
The chest constructed in 2 sections for ease of movement and carriage, located with raised dowels . The upper section fitted 2 short and 1 long drawer , the lower section with 2 long drawers. The whole raised from the ground slightly on 4 compressed bun feet .
In good original condition, showing the marks and minor repairs from historic active use in service life .
The heavy teak construction providing robust storage and protection for use and transportation on both Naval vessels and campaigns.
The chest has achieved an attractive mellow honey-coloured patination and hue.
