Detailed terracotta study of Roman Empress Lucia Drusilla signed by Sommer, Naples . Livia Drusilla (58 BC-29 AD) also known as Julia Augusta after her formal adoption into the Julian family in AD 14, was the consort ,wife and advisor of the Roman Emperor Augustus throughout his reign .
Depicted in a draped and pleated toga , seated on a period 'Klismos' style classical chair , her hands clasped in her lap , her sandalled feet resting on a stool .
In excellent original condition, with a fine dry 'biscuit' finish to the clay .
