Smart pair of early C19th French mahogany pedestal bookcases or side cabinets.
Decorative and practical pair of Empire-inspired design open-fronted pedestal bookcases or cabinets each fitted with 2 polished mahogany shelves with 'ladder-rack' adjusting . The stepped architectural top fitted with 'concealed' frieze drawer , the plinth bases also fitted with a similar drawer. Original panelled backs .
Veneered in well-chosen 'flame' grained mahogany, the drawer fronts with 'book-matched' veneers.
In excellent condition with original rich patina . One minor triangular veneer repair to rear of one top .
Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
