Early C19th Regency period carved marble sculpture of a hound .
Sculpted in white Carrara marble , well carved study of a dog in a lying prone alert pose. Carved from a single piece of marble with integral canted corner plinth base .
The rear haunches depicted with the legs and tail wrapped and folded underneath the prone body . Good definition and detail to the paws and claws, the mouth partially open exposing teeth . The raised head of slightly naive design .
Charming Regency period sculpture in good original condition with no damage or repairs . The marble of a polished patina and creamier in colour than in photographs.
