Description

Large late C19th walnut bureau of early Georgian design .
Substantial walnut bureau with well-figured veneers , unusual drawer arrangement all fitted with period style shaped brass plate handles and escutcheon plates , and with cross-banded edges. The book-matched veneered fall-front with 'herringbone' inlay, enclosing a well-fitted walnut interior comprising drawers, central cupboard and pigeon-holes , with key. The top also banded and inlaid with 'herringbone' detail .
Raised upon shaped bracket feet .
A large and capacious writing bureau of early eighteenth century design with a faded pale walnut period style patina .
