Late C18th Italian coromandel and ivory inlaid table cabinet.
Interesting table cabinet with an arrangement of decoratively inlaid Milanese style ivory and bone drawers around a central 'tabernacle' type portico door with capped architectural columns ,which opens on decorative strap-work hinges .
The interior of the central compartment with an interior fitted with 2 small drawers with ivory knobs . The top left drawer opening with the central reserve to create a longer document drawer. The drawers and frame all divided and decorated with ebonised 'ripple' mouldings. The drawers and door door all fitted with spring-loaded steel locks with the single key operating all .
The exterior inlaid with pewter/white-metal stringing dividing the segments of figured coromandel veneers, composing an attractive 'brick-like' design.
Good quality thinly-made hardwood drawer linings , the reverse with a plain unpolished flush-boarded back . Raised on small compressed bun feet .
