Late C19th/early C20th Edwardian period mahogany ladies' writing table or 'Bonheur du jour' style desk .
Neat mahogany Sheraton revival style writing table with satinwood cross-banding and string inlay . The frieze fitted with 2 drawers retaining original cast gilt brass handles . The writing surface with the original tooled green leather inset , though worn . Raised on square tapering legs fitted with brass castors .
The rear with fitted inkwell and pen drawers to either side with fiddle-back mahogany veneered concave lidded stationery compartments with galleried backs and inlaid flame-veneered ovals , in the manner of a "Carlton House" style desk .
Original throughout , wear to leather and some fading to polish .
