Augustus (63 BC -14 AD) was the founder of the Roman Empire and its first Emperor .
The 2 metre high marble statue of Augustus Caesar was discovered in 1863 at the Villa of Livia at Primo Porta , near Rome.
In ebonised and gilt contemporary frame and set within arch-top gilt edged mount.
