Description

C19th Victorian period majolica-type glazed pottery garden or 'grotto' seat , fashioned as a tree-stump. Interesting green and brown glazed garden seat with naturalistic bark and cut-branch detail .
The top with hand-hold cut-out for ease of transportation.
Unmarked to underside , but of the type of fashionable majolica pottery-ware produced during the mid-C19th by the likes of Mintons.
The top has small firing crack from central hand-hold , whilst the underside has some small stress cracks from base.
Highly decorative and functional piece for use in a garden , orangery or conservatory .
