Description

Pair of early C19th Regency period gilded bronze candelabra. Smart pair of two-branch candelabra with cast-foliate branches ,scroll-work and flower-bud centres. The bases with well-modelled recumbent greyhounds with crossed front paws. Mounted upon the original creamy-white marble plinth bases. The gilding having achieved a restrained colour and patina from age and wear. Well-formed and cast candle knozzles with removable sconces. The candle-arms and centre being modelled in all-round decoration of exceptional quality.
Some wear to finish from polishing, and the marble bases with some discolouration and minor chips commensurate with age , use and purpose.
