Description

Early C19th French Charles X period siena marble and patinated bronze clock garniture . Stylish Empire-style 3-piece clock-set with unusual attractive dark-green patinated bronze mounts contrasting with the distinctive figured yellow ' Marmo Giallo' clock-case and plinth bases of the campana shaped tazza side-pieces. The pair of tazzas with gilded ormolu wrythen handles ,gadrooned shallow bowls and fluted socles raised on stepped bronze-mounted plinths. The clock with heavily-cast 'acanthus leaf' base and classical design scroll feet , the case surmounted by an oval gadrooned urn with conforming ormolu handles.
Fitted with a silk-suspension 8-day striking movement which will be overhauled and serviced prior to sale.
The plain patinated circular bronze dial fitted with original blued steel loop-hands , and an opening glass door.
Minor chips to marble plinth bases of tazzas, but overall in excellent condition with wear commensurate with age and use.
