Pair of large-scale late C19th / early C20th amethyst veneered obelisks.
Beautiful pair of highly-decorative amethyst hardstone veneered obelisks with Belgian slate mouldings and grey marble plinth bases. The selected amethyst sections of highly-figured stone , alluding to the colour and composition of the much-prized and rare mineral of Derbyshire fluorspar , known as "Blue-John". The striking 'fire' and deep purple striations of the amethyst contrasting with the dark marble mouldings creating a strong visual impact.
In psychic and spiritual realms , amethyst is an excellent all-purpose stone that can increase spirituality and enhance intuition and psychic powers of all kinds .
