Description

Pair of early C19th George IV period carved mahogany hall chairs. Well-carved pair of hall or foot-mans' chairs with scrolling ancanthus-leaf detail backs ,shaped cresting rail and open central cartouche for an armorial device . The shaped seats above reeded front legs onto peg feet terminals. The rear of backs with finger-grip carving for ease of movement.
Excellent colour with original polish and patina .Top quality grade of timber. Minor historic repairs to rear legs and some minor stains to the solid mahogany seats.
