Early C19th Regency period rosewood ladies sewing casket .
Of neo-classical sarcophagus form , rosewood sewing box with painted and decorated sycamore panel lid with Tunbridge-ware style inlaid surround to the edge . The painted panel within black and gold border, depicting mother and child upon a period chaise longue of classical inspiration .Box-wood strung edges , ivory lozenge-shaped key escutcheon , gilded-brass ball feet and gilded-brass lion's mask carrying handles . The interior with original pink paper lining , Morocco leather and lift-out divided tray with original fittings .
