C19th ormolu-mounted burr-walnut 2-drawer writing/centre table. Superior quality English-made walnut library table of French Louis XVI style and taste. Of free-standing form fitted 2 frieze drawers, with 'dummy' drawers to reverse and conforming end friezes .
Ormolu mounts to all central friezes , ormolu waist beading and ormolu lock escutcheons. Raised on line-inlaid square section tapering legs , terminating with ormolu bead trim to a brass and porcelain castor. The cross-banded and inlaid top with "book-matched" tightly-figured burr walnut quarter-veneered central panel , with geometric design box-wood line-inlay .Cross-grain 'thumb-moulded' edge.
With original single key operating both lockable mahogany-lined drawers, fitted with quality stamped English locks.
Mint clean , original condition , cleaned and waxed in our workshops, ready to use.

Excellent quality well-chosen veneers , good original colour and patina. Useful scale table which could be utilised in any number of situations and functions.
