C19th William IV period mahogany library bookcase.
Excellent quality flame-veneered mahogany glazed-top bookcase , with fitted secretaire drawer over an inverted break-front 4-cupboard base.
Ovoid bar-glazed 2-door bookcase top fitted with 2 adjustable shelves, beneath a flared, stepped cavetto cornice. The secretaire with figured satinwood interior comprising an arrangement of drawers (one fitted as a pen/ink drawer) and correspondence 'pigeon-holes'.
The lower inverted break-front base comprising of 2 end side cupboards with adjustable shelves, and 2-door centre enclosing an unusual central bank of drawers fitment with 'secret' / concealed drawers behind. All conforming moulded arch-panel decoration, with ovoid secretaire drawer panel echoing the glazing.
Original panelled back, the whole raised on a plinth base.
Rich mahogany patina and colour ,in good original condition , with minor shrinkage crack to top left of base section (shown).
