Description

C19th William IV period rosewood-framed day-bed / chaise-longue in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. Top quality rosewood frame with classically-inspired anthemion and lotus leaf-wrapped motif carved detail and decoration with dramatic exaggerated scroll-end. Stands on carved and shaped supports with concealed original brass castors. Newly re-upholstered in the traditional manner in our workshops. Completely free-standing and symmetrical with a D-shaped end. Double-sided loose cushion with horse-hair filling and cord detail edge, and loose roll cushion to end. Well-chosen figured timber of good colour, original polish surface , cleaned and waxed.
