Description

Late C19th / early C20th Chinese Sancai glazed pottery or stone-ware barrel-shaped garden seat .
Decorative and functional Chinese garden seat with a flat top which could perhaps be used as a table or plant stand . Decorated with motifs of bats , being an auspicious symbol in Chinese culture . The sides of the body with ‘cut-out’ carrying handles , also in the shape of bats The top and bottom with a key pattern design border .
In traditional Chinese three colour Sancai glaze. In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs.
Would work equally well in an interior or exterior scheme to introduce an exotic oriental accent .
