Early C19th late George III period figured mahogany bow-front chest of 2 short and 2 long drawers, of compact scale and proportions.
Raised on splay feet with a shaped apron, the ‘cock-beaded’ drawers fitted with sympathetically chosen old replacement oval brass handles with cast detail back-plates. The top of ‘caddy’ form with an inlaid box-wood line edge .
Fitted brass escutcheons to the drawers with steel locks , one short drawer supplied with a working key . The 2 long drawers of graduating depth . All drawers with a pleasing figured grain to the rich mahogany and in good working order . Original backboards to verso.
In excellent condition, having been sympathetically and skilfully restored probably about 30 years ago . The top with a minor historic ring-mark .
A practical small-scale Georgian mahogany bow-fronted chest for a bedroom , offering useful storage.
