Early C19th mahogany bedside table of classical Empire-inspired design .
Stylish mahogany bedside table or nightstand raised on reeded and turned legs onto shaped feet, being fitted with a compartment with brass-hinged drop-down flap formed as two simulated drawer fronts opening with a turned knob pull and brass sprung closure latch .The sides and back with classical or Empire-design crossed lattice bar slats , the top fitted with a three-quarter gallery upstand and having a reeded mould edge.
The drawer possibly originally fitted with a zinc lining , some minor degradation to the original polished surface to the front , overall with a rich colour and patina to the figured mahogany .
