Pair of late C19th ormolu bronze mounted white marble reversible cassolettes in the Louis XVI taste.
Smart pair of statuary white marble lidded cassolette candlesticks having ovoid bodies with ram�s head tripod athenienne style supports with cloven feet onto detailed cast bases . Raised on shaped marble plinths with ormolu bead decoration and triple turned ormolu feet below.
The tapering ovoid bodies mounted with ormolu floral swags , the reversible domed lids having cast berry finials and mounts , the shaped ormolu bronze candleholders with cast fluted detail.
In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. The marble with a bright polished surface and luminescence , the cast ormolu bronze mounts with a subtle aged gilded surface and patina.
A fine quality pair of decorative cassolettes for use perhaps on a mantelpiece or side cabinet.
