Mid C19th Italian �Grand Tour� souvenir double-sided faux book containing a selection of various plaster intaglios by Paoletti .
Opening to reveal varying sized finely-cast and detailed plaster intaglio impressions of classical and Renaissance subjects and sculptures . The inside covers printed with scripted indices and descriptions. The intaglios include images of Bacchus, Hercules and Mercury.
The tan brown leather spine with gilt lettering �Paoletti Impronte� and �Opere Di Vaj Autori�. The covers having marbled paper covers .
In excellent original condition with minor wear to the outer corners and spine of the �book� commensurate with age and use
The Paoletti firm�s studio in Rome was located on Piazza de Spagna , and they enjoyed a stellar reputation, having amongst their clients European royalty and nobility. Examples of their work are held in major cities and collections of the world including the V & A , London.
