Description

Diminutive mid C18th George II period mahogany demi-lune fold-over top tea or occasional table .
Raised on cabriole type supports onto pad feet with �lappet� carved knees . Having a rear swing gate-leg action to support the brass-hinged fold-over top when opened. The two-part half round tops both hinged and opening to reveal a �well� or storage space beneath.
The front fitted with a brass escutcheon plate of rococo design , having a replacement brass lock (no key) .
In �as found� ,fresh-to-market , country-house condition , the top having a mellow colour from sunlight exposure , the remainder of the table with a rich colour and patina.
A small-scale mid Georgian period mahogany table of practical size and proportions. Minor marks and dents commensurate with age, use and purpose.
