Description
Late C18th George III period mahogany tripod base pole-screen .
The shaped tripod supports onto pad feet, the turned stem having a carved wrythen knop to the centre. The mahogany pole fitted with a seemingly contemporaneous ‘cut-corner’ panel screen decorated with gilt highlights , painted trailing ivy and a central classical female profile .
The panel with a brass fitting to the reverse to allow height adjustment.
No damage or repairs. The mahogany having a rich colour and patina. Originally with a finial to the top of the pole , now missing.
