Late C18th George III period mahogany ‘stick’ barometer by Fasana of Bath .
Elegant mahogany barometer with a silvered scale behind a hinged glazed door , signed in script by “Fasana, 35 Milsom St., Bath “. Fitted with a thermometer and mercury filled glass tube to monitor the pressure.
The top of the case with a classically-inspired ‘broken arch’ pediment with a cast brass classical urn finial to the centre .
The body of the barometer with chevron veneers and ebony and boxwood inlaid string line detail. The circular turned done-top reservoir at the base set with a turned bone disc .
In excellent original condition, and in a fully working and complete state .
