Early C20th Chinese carved hardwood scroll-end rectangular altar table .
Rectangular altar or painting table with panelled top , carved and pierced friezes with scroll ends . The friezes with traditional carved detail of the dragon pursuing the flaming pearl of wisdom . The ends of the top with similar carved and pierced panels .
The shaped legs with open carved detail, joined by stretchers.
In excellent original condition, the top with a mellow colour and patina, the base with a rich polished reddish colour. Strong and stable with no damage or repairs.
Of freestanding form with identical carving to both sides.
Of good practical scale and proportions for use perhaps as a console or hall table to add an exotic oriental accent to an interior scheme.
