C19th gilt bronze �Grand Tour� souvenir desk ornament or �presse-papiers � of the �Medici Lion� on an onyx marble base.
Well-cast gilded bronze reduction of the iconic ancient lion , known as the �Medici Lion�. The lion together with its companion pair, now housed in the Loggia dei Lanzi , Florence , Italy .
Mounted on a figured onyx marble plinth base on a gilded brass slip with green felt baize beneath.
Smart desk ornament for use as a paper-weight.
