C19th French bronze lamp base modelled as a mythical sea creature or �merman �.
The bronze winged figure depicted with a fish tail lower body mounted upon a rocky and shell encrusted sea-bed base , the whole raised on a cylindrical plinth base with a square foot . The reeded cylinder with a band of gilded stiff-leaf decoration.
The bronze merman holding a bronze sea-urchin shell above his head to form the base for the light fixture.
In excellent original condition with a dark consistent patina .
In need of re-wiring, which can be completed to client�s specification.
